Bob Marshall, founder of The Marshall Plan, has an extensive background in the recruiting industry as a recruiter, manager, vice president, president, consultant, and trainer.
Marshall started in search and recruiting on June 15, 1980, with the Management Recruiters franchise in Reno, Nevada. He participated in several superstar panels and was a Pacesetter in 1981, finishing #32 (out of approximately 1,500 account executives) in the nation and #6 in the Pacific region. Weathering the 1982 recession, he ended that year as the only recruiter in the office. During his tenure in Reno, he was named "Account Executive of the Month" 16 times.
In 1984, Marshall became Management Recruiters, Sales Consultants & Compusearch Western Regional Manager, training and directing their 60+ offices in the 11 western states. He was acknowledged as the top trainer in the MR network for the next two years.
In early 1986, Marshall became manager of the MR office in Sausalito, California. During his second quarter, the office won "Office of the Quarter" (along with the highest PDA of production and the highest average number of placements). Later that year, he originated and produced the first "Morning Meetings" video training series for MR/SC/Compusearch/OM5.
In September of 1986, Marshall went into business for himself, founding The Bob Marshall Group (based on The Marshall Plan). He has traveled extensively throughout the United States, the United Kingdom, Malta, and Cyprus, training recruiters. In addition to his training regimen, many respected recruitment companies have retained Marshall's services. Some include Apple One, The Accountants Overload Group, Spectra Professional Search, and MSI International.
Marshall's current list of copyrighted recruitment products and services include “Your Desk As A Manufacturing Plant” recruiter training manual; speaking engagements; a 45-part audiotape training series with accompanying transcripts; the "Forms" package; modularized/multi-task daily planner; and the 100+-page Quick Resource Guide (QRG).
In August of 1996, Marshall went back to working a desk and opened an Atlanta location with affiliations in London, England. He continues to coach and train, as well as manage and work a desk. He specializes in helping companies fill their most difficult positions. Some of Marshall's most recent accomplishments include the following: GAPS (Georgia Association of Personnel Services) Board Member, 1996-1999; recipient of the "Million Dollar Hall of Fame Award," "Board of Directors Award," and "$300K+ Club Award."
Marshall lives on his horse ranch in McDonough, Georgia. He earned a B.A. Degree in Political Science with a major in International Relations from UCLA in 1972 and a MIM (Masters of International Management) from The American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird Campus) in Glendale, Arizona, in 1975.
